Direct Selling in Germany – Analysis of Markets & Trends

The following charts give the results of a study that was conducted by Prognos AG at the request of the German Direct Selling Association and completed in April 2005.

By making a quantitative assessment of market data, the study aimed to provide new, informative and reliable figures, to obtain information about customer requirements, and to get direct selling better established as a sales channel by taking an overall view of the market.

The study involved carrying out the following:

  1. a market analysis for ascertaining turnover and prospects of growth in the direct selling segment;
  2. a representative survey of consumers;
  3. a qualitative evaluation of (consumer) trends in direct selling, including:
  4. drafting scenarios.
